FAMILY-OWNED POSITIVE APPAREL BUSINESS BRINGS ABOUT POSITIVE
ATTITUDES
TOLEDO, Ohio - "It's all about feeling good about yourself,"
said Pamela Lee.
Pamela and Vernon Lee are the owners of Sir Max, a family-owned
"positive apparel" business. Through their line of
positive apparel, they strive to educate and assist people in
finding "the spirit within."
According to Pam, "The purpose of Sir Max is to enhance
unconditional love within ourselves, with our families, friends,
pets, and foremost, with God."
Every shirt, totebag and bandana produced by Sir Max features
a positive caption, intended to "make a difference in the
customer's life," Pam said. New products are added monthly,
and are sold both on the internet at their on-line store, located
at www.sirrmax.com, as well as several places that host Pam's
speaking engagements, where she focuses on educating others on
the importance of loving and accepting themselves.
Sir Max, a home-based business named after the Lees' lovable
Labrador-mix dog, takes pride in producing high-quality apparel
that becomes something a customer can both enjoy and feel good
about wearing. By coupling the latest in fashion trends with
positive attitude, featuring items suitable for all ages of people,
from children to teens to adults, Sir Max strives to show its
customers that life truly can have positive results. Their apparel
features such captions as "A Woman With Spirit Is A Woman
With Power" and "Dreams Do Not Have An Expiration Date."
Owning a home-based business is a fairly new experience for Pamela
and Vernon, yet they've seen continued growth. They have learned
that it's important to be creative in every aspect, from writing
their marketing plan to designing their web site. They've also
learned other various aspects of owning a business, including
identifying their target market and keeping their office updated
with the latest equipment and software. The most recent development
with their business is a trademark that's pending on Sir Max,
and the plans to acquire a license to manufacture.
But becoming business owners, Pam and Vernon have discovered,
requires work and dedication. Pam recommends to business owners
and people who want to become business owners that it's important
to find a line of work that's enjoyable. She also said that when
owning a home-based business, it's extremely important to schedule
family time.
"You have to be dedicated during the good times and the
bad times," said Pam. "My best advice, though, is to
write down your mistakes, because a mistake is only good if you
learn a lesson from it."
Pamela Lee attributes the success of their business with the
successes she's achieved in her own spiritual journey. The business
and her own life are based on the attitude that positive thinking
brings about positive results in the lives of all individuals.
She is a mentor at a battered women's shelter, and encourages
women there to realize that it's possible to go on and to maintain
a positive attitude. She also speaks in various other settings
on the subject of positive attitude, including high schools,
corporations, churches and prisons.
"The main purpose for Sir Max is to help people feel good
about who they are," said Pam. "It's to help people
realize they can achieve their dreams."
